3 DAY KAKADU TOURS -
DAY 1:

Our 3 Day Kakadu tour begins by picking you up from your accommodation at 6:30am. What a better way to start the morning than by sitting back and enjoying an Exclusive Aboriginal Cultural Experience as you become part of a Welcome to Country ceremony conducted by Aboriginal Traditional Owners. Biliru Tours and Cultural Experiences are operated by Larrakia Traditional Owners who are able to provide you with a rare insight into their lifestyle and culture. Meet Aboriginal Traditional Owners on a personal level and chat with them over a cup of billy tea while enjoying the scenic views along one of Darwins magnificent pristine beaches. This a hands-on demonstration gives you the opportunity to participate in fun activities such as fire lighting, spear throwing, didgeridoo lessons and basket weaving. We are the only company able to offer you this exclusive interactive program. Next we get to view some fantastic bird life on the Marrakai Floodplain as we head down the Arnhem Highway on our way to Kakadu. We travel into Kakadu via the unsealed Old Darwin Road and we take a break at White Lily Billabong for another chance to admire congregations of birds amongst water lily covered floodplains. Cool off with a refreshing swim at Barramundi Gorge where you can spend some time exploring, rock climbing, relaxing or swimming in the waterfalls, the choice is yours. Tonight after a candlelit dinner in the heart of Kakadu, you can have a go at playing the didgeridoo around the campfire. (Lunch, Dinner)
Camp: Minimal Facility Campground
Walking: 4km

DAY 2:

Today we get off-road with our 4wd vehicle and start making our way to Twin Falls where you will get to enjoy an informative boat cruise with an Aboriginal Guide up Twin Falls Gorge. After a short walk down to the end of the gorge, you reach a beautiful white sandy beach at the base of Twin Falls - simply spectacular. Enjoy relaxing on the beach for a while as you take in the scenery which can best be described as breath taking. Keep a look out for local wildlife as we 4wd through creeks and sand on our way to the mighty Jim Jim Falls. A swim in the plunge pool at the base of Jim Jim Falls is sure to wake you up for the day as you cool down in the refreshing water. To reach the plunge pool, a 1km scenic walk through monsoon rainforest is taken and has excellent lookouts over Jim Jim Falls. Take your time to admire the awesome sight of the sheer cliff faces that surround you from the base of the gorge. For the hikers today, you will get a return walk (7km) to the Top of Jim Jim or Twin Falls which both offer magnificent views down the gorge and allow swimming in rock pools at the top of the falls. These longer walks also really give you the chance to see the Kakadus diverse range of magnificent plant species. Our safari camp permit in this region allows us to choose a peaceful campsite only 30 minutes drive from Jim Jim falls and ensures that tomorrow you will wake up to the sound of the birds instead of the crowds. In the evening you can spend some time stargazing under the southern skies(Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Camp: Garnamar Campground
walking: 9 km

DAY 3:

A cultural experience of a different kind awaits you as we start our day by heading north to see some awesome paintings at Ubirr Rock. The concentration of Aboriginal art here in Kakadu is magnificent and is recognised as one of the most famous rock art and cultural sites in the world. At Ubirr Rock you will see some fantastic Aboriginal Art sites and learn about the Aboriginal lifestyle and culture. A short climb to the top of Ubirr Rock will reward you with a 360 degree view over floodplains and the Arnhem Land Escarpment - a spectacular sight. Next you can view various displays on Kakadu at the Bowali Visitor Centre before we end our days highlights with a Private Crocodile and Wildlife Cruise on Corroboree Billabong, a part of the Mary River system. You are bound to see plenty of bird life and usually a lot of crocodiles on a 1.5 hour cruise that won't leave you disappointed. Watch the sunset as we head back to Darwin in the early evening at the end of your 3 Day Kakadu safari. Leave your tour with memories of spectacular scenery, magnificent waterfalls and having had lots of fun with a group of great people. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Walking: 3km

Tour Guides: Our guides are very professional and are well versed on all aspects of the Top End and Kakadu. Constant evaluation programs ensure that our guides possess extensive knowledge of the flora, fauna, geology and culture of these regions. Most of our guides have been guiding for several years and are very enthusiastic about showing passengers the local wildlife. All guides hold current first aid certificates & have completed courses in both remote area operations and minimal impact techniques.

Permit Areas: Due to our willingness to work with Aboriginal traditional owners and our commitment to nature-based eco tourism, we are the only small group tour operator with access to Upper Sandy Creek Falls (Litchfield). We are one of only a select few tour companies that have special access to restricted areas such as Koolpin Gorge (Kakadu), Graveside Gorge (Kakadu), Moline Rock Hole (Kakadu) and Upper Tolmer Gorge (Litchfield). We also hold a safari camp permit at Jim Jim Falls campground (Garnamar). Permit areas allow our passengers to experience Kakadu without the crowds.

Vehicles: To fully enjoy what the Top End has to offer, you need to travel in a 4WD vehicle and that is a fact. We operate only 4WD vehicles that range in size from 9–13 seats, so an emphasis is placed on small group personalised tours. Our vehicles are regularly serviced and maintained to minimize the risk of breakdowns during any of our tours. All of our vehicles are airconditioned.

Camping Equipment: Our tour vehicles all tow trailers with the necessary equipment to make your camping safari as comfortable as possible. We provide swags (April – Nov), sleeping mats, easy-to-erect tents, camp chairs, tables, 12 volt fluorescent lights, communal torches and eskies (ice boxes to keep the food fresh and the drinks cold).

Food: Fresh fruit and vegetables are available every day. Iced water is available in the vehicle at all times. Breakfasts consist of cereals, toast with spreads, tea and coffee. Lunch is usually a selection of cold meats and salad or sandwiches. Dinner will be cooked on the campfire by your guide, who is also a skilled open fire cook, with menus to suit all tastes. Wine is included with some evening meals. We can easily cater for vegetarians – please inform us when you book.

Passenger Involvement: All of our tours are designed to provide passengers with a 'hands on' wilderness camping experience. It is therefore a necessary requirement that all passengers participate in general camp duties such as erecting tents, preparing meals, washing up etc. Camp duties are not strenuous and full group participation allows everybody more time for other enjoyable activities.

Walking Distances & Programs: Please be advised that the programs and walking distances supplied should only be used as a guideline. Your tour guides may change programs at their discretion, due to extreme temperatures, safety issues or to suit the specific interests of the group, and walking distances may vary substantially.

Campground Facilities: As our tours are traveling into remote areas and to avoid crowds, some places that we camp have absolutely no facilities, this occurs predominantly on the Kimberley tours. Other areas only have basic toilet facilities and no showers on most occasions. Fortunately we are swimming on nearly every day of the tours so hygiene is not a problem.

Passenger Fitness Level: Our tours have been designed to suit fit, active people mainly ranging in age from 18–35 years. Tours are not available to any children under the age of 13 and passengers who are over 45 must ensure they are extremely fit if they wish to participate in any of our tours. If you have any doubts regarding your level of fitness, please discuss it with your agent or contact us directly.
