Day 1:
Perth – Esperance
• Visit the historic town of York
• Explore Wave Rock
• Esperance and the Great Ocean Drive
Leaving Perth we head through the Darling Ranges towards the historic
town of York. Colonial buildings line the streets as we stop to admire
the town’s proud heritage. Continuing through the expansive fields of the
wheat belt we journey to The Dog Cemetery. Next Hyden and its famous
Wave Rock. Learn how this mysterious granite outcrop, sculptured by
nature, along with Hippo’s Yawn is steeped with aborigine culture. The
tour proceeds past the 120°E meridian (WA time) towards Esperance and
the Southern Ocean’s spectacular coastline. We travel the Great Ocean
Drive for a brief taste of what tomorrow has to offer before checking into
our hostel accommodation. Check out the town or go fishing from the
town jetty and maybe see Sammy the sea lion! (L,D)
Day 2:

Cape Le Grande and Esperance
• Cape Le Grande National Park
• Climb Frenchmanʼs peak
• Lucky Bay & Hells Fire Beach
• Walk Thistle Coveʼs Nature Trail.
Prepare to be amazed this morning! Cape Le Grande awaits, a day of
wonder, adventure and unbelievable scenery. We head straight for Lucky
Bay, arguably one of Australia’s finest beaches. See the kangaroos and
stroll the squeaky clean sands. Walk the nature trail to Thistle Cove to
witness stunning panoramas and abundant wildlife then cool off in the
pristine aquamarine waters of Hellfire
Beach. Relax now but after lunch we
climb Frenchmans Peak. From the ocean
carved caves, the 260m summit offers
sweeping views. It has been a full day
as we return to our accommodation.
Towards days end, we can visit the town
lookout to view the beautiful Recherché
Archipelago before feasting on an
Aussie BBQ. (B,L,D)
Day 3:

Esperance – Albany
• Fitzgerald River National Park
• Two Peoples Bay
• Bremer Bay
• Middleton Beach & King George Sound • Albany Township
Today, as we make our way towards Western Australia’s first settlement,
Albany, it is all about the regions unique ecosystems. First up is the
Biosphere of the Fitzgerald River National Park (wildflower season
only). Internationally recognised as “the most important Mediterranean
ecosystem in the world”. We head for the coast, looking for Southern
Right whales (winter season only) and travel the scenic route to lunch.
We enjoy the nature trails of Two Peoples Bay that meander throughout
this sanctuary for threatened birds and animals to yet another amazing
beach. Heading into town, we visit the many attractions of Albany’s
spectacular Middleton Beach & King George Sound, a stunning
natural harbour best viewed from Mount Clarence lookout. Hostel

Day 4:

Albany – Pemberton
• Frenchman Bay
• The Gap/Natural Bridge/Blow holes
• Tree Top Walk
Following the coastline of King George Sound
we head for nearby Frenchman Bay to explore
the wonderful Whale Museum (winter only).
Described as Australia’s first ‘industry’ see
how the early whale hunters battled with
giant sharks to land their huge catches. The
tour then moves on to the imposing natural
coastline features locally known as ‘The Gap’,
‘Natural Bridge’ and the famous blow holes.
We continue on to the town of Denmark for
a short break before arriving at the stunning
Greens Pool. Our next stop is the ‘Valley of the Giants’
which includes the elevated ‘Tree Top Walk’ with views of the
dense Tingle Tree canopy. We journey on to Pemberton, where
you can take up the challenge and climb one of the famous
Fire Tree lookouts (summer only). It’s then on to our overnight

Day 5:

Pemberton – Perth
• Margaret River
• Aboriginal Centre
• Busselton Jetty
• Dolphin Discovery Centre
Awakening to a wonderful misty southwest morning we rise to the sights
of kangaroos and emus which are abundant in the area. Heading north
west, we journey to the famous wine and surfing region of Augusta
& Margaret River. The spectacular limestone coast winds its way to
the mouth of the Margaret River. Nearby, waves from the Indian Ocean
wash onto pristine beaches, home of the world famous WA Masters
Surf Championships. We continue to The Wardan Aboriginal Centre
where we learn about the early Aboriginal people, the Wardandi people.
Hear about the amazing ‘bushcraft skills’ used by the original people
who thrived in the district for thousands of years. After lunch, we enjoy
wine tasting at an exclusive winery and also spoil ourselves at the locally
run Chocolate Company. Next stop, we visit one
of the vast networks of caves in the region. Then
its Busselton Jetty, for a look at the longest piled
wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. Our
Tour is coming to an end and before we say our
goodbyes we have one last stop at Bunbury Dolphin
Discovery centre sitting on the edge of Koombana
Bay and maybe see a dolphin cruise by. Next stop
Perth city where we arrive back around 7.00pm. (B,L)
Winter Tour June - Nov:
Day 5:
Pemberton – Perth
• Flinders Bay
• Whale Watching
• Margaret River
• Busselton Jetty
In the morning we set off for the
Augusta/Margaret River region
where the mighty Indian and Southern
Oceans meet. Its now time for some serious
whale watching (optional extra). Boarding
our vessel the ‘Whale Watcher’, a 50 seat
luxury catamaran, we head out into Flinders
Bay to witness the spectacular migration
of Humpback whales moving from their feeding
grounds in Antarctica. For those who are not keen
on the whales, we can visit one of the vast networks
of caves in the region. We then make a brief stop at
the local cheese, chocolate company and Busselton
Jetty, before a leisurely return to Perth arriving around
7,00pm.
Tour will alter for the whale watching season.
